“But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: “(Philippians 3:7-9)
There are so many encouraging sections in the book of Philippians, but this is most certainly near the top for me. We do not feel that we have suffered for the cause of Christ, but as we say goodbye to the house that has been our home for the past 3 1/2 years, we must remember the purpose to which God has called us. God has so graciously given us a beautiful home to live in, even giving us the opportunity to see it as it was being built and watch as it went from an open field to our family’s place of refuge. We knew this was coming when we purchased and planned the home, but it is still hard to let some things go.
We now move into a new chapter of our life and ministry, living in the fifth wheel that the Lord, once again, has so graciously and amazingly provided.
Thank you to all of you who have prayed for us in finding the truck, the fifth wheel trailer, and in selling our house. We have accepted an offer for our house that is very good. Lord willing, it will close on July 19th, officially ending our time in Woodburn. Fittingly, we will actually be at our church family camp on the day of the close.
Prayer requests:
Please pray for my FAA written, oral and practical tests. Once again, there has been little change since our last letter on this topic. There has been a delay in the oral and practical testing process that we are praying for the Lord to clear up. We have no real timeline on this yet, we are just waiting on the Lord and his perfect timing.
While we have agreed on a contract to sell our house, please pray that everything with the closing process goes smoothly. As in all things, the Lord is in full control and we look to him for wisdom, even with what seem like small decisions.
Pray for me as I march toward the finish line with the Aviation Maintenance Program. There are a total of (5) remaining classes. This will be eight weeks during June-August, followed by another eight weeks during the last part of September through the first two weeks of November. Pray that I will be able to finish strong and be free to move on to full-time deputation in the end of the year.
Lastly, we are working on completing our video presentation as well as our website. I am not the most experienced in either of these areas, so we could use a little help. We have several leads that we need to follow up on. Pray that we land on the right product for both.
Thank you once again for all of your prayers. We have received so much encouragement from so many of you. Know that we cannot do it without God, as well as your encouragement.
